Monday, June 8th- Friday, June 12th
Happy Monday everyone,
It is officially our final week of home learning. As per Mr. Ingersoll's memo, the last day for home learning will be this Friday, June 12th. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who is home and contributing to their child's learning and well-being since the school closures. I will keep this website, and all it's resources up until September. Please feel free to use anything that is on here, whenever you would like. If you would like to send pictures, so we can see what you are up to, I will continue to update our student showcase page.
This is certainly not how I expected our school year to end, and I am sad that the students and I couldn't celebrate our year end together. Please let you child know that I was very grateful to be their teacher this year. I loved getting to know each and every one of them. It was a wonderful year, despite how it ended. I wish you and your child all the best, and hope you have a wonderful summer.
If there is anything you need from me, please let me know. :)
-Ms. Poirier
Monday, June 1st-Friday, June 5th
Happy Monday everyone,
It's hard to believe it's already June! As per the memo from Mr. Ingersoll, the Continuity of Learning Plan will end on June 12th. This leaves us with just 2 full weeks left of home learning options. If there is anything specific you would like me to send you, please let me know. Also, I would love to see any of the Science challenges you have been working on throughout this unprecedented time. I hope you are continuing to read each day, and have a chance to discuss what you are reading. If you have not checked out Prodigy Math yet, you should. It's really fun! Your classmates and myself, love seeing pictures of what you are up to, so please continue to send them my way.
I hope you have a wonderful week, and remember I am available if you need anything at all.

Monday, May 25- Friday, May 29th
I hope everyone had a great weekend and was able to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. Please continue to read, read, read and talk about or write about what you have read (see guiding questions on the literacy page). The Minister of Education recommends students in grade 4 average 2 hours a day on home learning. This includes 30 minutes reading and 30 minutes physical activity daily. So far on Epic, our class has earned our 250 books badge. Great work, 4P!! If you would like to send me samples of your work, or pictures of you doing something fun and exciting, please send them my way. I have been updating the student showcase page, so be sure to check out what our classmates have been up to.
As always, please let me know if there is something specific you would like, or if I can help in any way.
Have a wonderful week,
-Ms. P.
Tuesday, May 19th-Friday, May 22nd
As we go into week 10 of our home learning, I am hoping that everyone is remembering to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather we have been getting! It's important that we continue to do things that we enjoy, while navigating this unprecedented time in our lives. I am missing the routine of going to school, and getting to see each one of your smiling faces. I hope you are all happy, healthy and safe.
**New this week**
Science- I have uploaded a challenge for you to take something that is garbage/old, and create something new and useful with it. Can't wait to see your creations!

Happy Monday my friends :)
This week I have added a new online math resource, Prodigy Math. I think students will enjoy this website, because it looks like a video game, but it's math! Get our class code on the math page.
On the literacy page, I have put some new journal prompts for May.
I have also uploaded some pictures of our classmates, so you can see what they have been up to during our home learning. Check out our Student Showcase tab. Please keep sending me pictures of what you have been up to! I love seeing your smiling faces and what you've been up to.
An added French tab is intended to be useful for those who would like to continue practicing their french skills.
As always, please let me know if there is anything specific you would like, or anything I can help with.

Monday, April 27th- Friday, May 1st
Happy Monday my friends :). I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and were able to get outside and enjoy the sunshine. Ms. Poirier and Aylah went for a bike ride and made an obstacle with chalk. I would love to see what you are up to and showcase it for our friends to see. If you have any pictures/videos, please send them to me. :)
**Parent(s) there is no due date for any of the activities on this site. They are meant as suggestions and ideas. Set time aside to work with your child, but also time for them to work independently.
Literacy: Continue to read, read, read!! I have also updated a 25 day reading challenge if you are able to participate.
Math: There continues to be 3 ideas of concepts that we worked on in class, as well as general math activity suggestions.
Science: On this page you will find various coding resources. You can still submit your crazy contraption challenge this week! I'd love to see them.
Wellness: Check out the tab for some physical activity suggestions.
Monday April 20th-Friday April 24th
Literacy- Read, Read, Read!! You can read books that you have at home or check out our class Epic page! Stay tuned for challenges next week!
Math - On the Math page you will find lots of suggestions of Math activities. I have added 3 "big" concepts that you can work on from our Grade 4 Math curriculum document. These are things we practiced in class, so students should be familiar. They are intended to be review and not for parents to teach the concept. This week I challenge you to design and build a structure that is as tall as you using materials you have around the house! Please send me pictures to my email (with your parents permission) of your creation!
Science- See the Science page for this week’s challenge! I look forward to seeing your contraptions! Don't forget Wednesday is Earth Day!
Post-Intensive French – Mme. Roper has suggested the following website for you to continue practicing your French. flora.nbed.nb.ca. Duolingo is a great app that also will allow you to practice your French. You can even practice by watching tv in French, easy cartoons would be a good place to start!
***Parents: There is no due date for the activities I am suggesting. You can send in pictures or videos of your Crazy Contraptions, do Math work or read at any time***
